ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alias Wayne is the side project of singer/songwriter Ranzel X Kendrick. His interest in music composition began in grade school when Country legend and multi-Grammy winner Roger Miller gave him tips regarding songwriting. Throughout his teens, Alias Wayne and his high school friend, who happened to be a drummer, jammed with Miller when he visited their home town.

Alias Wayne has created his own “free range” music style that incorporates various genres to form a unique amalgamation. His influences include the likes of Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Steve Miller, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Roger Miller, the Beatles and others from Chet Atkins to the Rolling Stones.

Alias Wayne has performed at venues all across the world; including ‘The Bitter End’ in Greenwich Village, New York, ‘Musician's Institute’ in Hollywood, California and ‘Le Botanique’ in Brussels, Belgium. Alias Wayne has an ever expanding catalogue of original music which includes the three-album ‘Texas Series’ as well as multiple singles/EPs; ‘Snafu’, ‘Gimme What It’s Worth’, ‘FAUX PAS’ and ‘Firebrand’.

Alias Wayne’s latest single ‘Joan of Ottawa’ is OUT NOW and available to stream on all major platforms! The single lasts four minutes and fifty seven seconds and sits at a steady 87bpm. The track commences with a six second acoustic guitar led introduction that sets the tone for the vocal line.

Alias Wayne’s vocal color is natural whilst also maintaining just the right amount of emotive flare. Subtle layers of additional vocalisations are added systematically; creating a depth to the sound (check out: 2:08-2:11). The composition of the instrumentation amalgamates a dominant acoustic guitar, steady percussion, foundational bass, and an electric guitar that takes centre stage for a solo at 2:35-2:56 and 4:08-4:57 as an instrumental outro.
