ABOUT THE ARTIST
B-Funk, also known as Ben Gilbert, is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene earlier this year. Having always had a natural affinity for music composition, the LA born artist began using the DAW Fruity Loops to create his own beats back in 2008. In 2013 he started using REAPER to record, mix and master vocal tracks.
Honing his talent as a songwriter and producer over the years, B-Funk felt that it was time to start putting his original music out into the world. Although he receives creative inspiration from the likes of Masashi Hamauzu, Junya Nakano, and Hiroki Kikuta, B-Funk combines a variety of compositional elements to form his unique sound.
To date, B-Funk has five albums and three singles/EPs in his online discography. Some of his most popular tracks include the likes of ‘Talkin' Shit’, amassing almost five thousand seven hundred streams, ‘Purple Wave’, gathering over five thousand three hundred streams, and ‘Girl You Know’, with over four thousand five hundred streams. With numbers like that on Spotify alone, there is no denying the fact that B-Funk is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans.
