ABOUT THE ARTIST
Brian McCalla has three decades of performance and production experience in the world of electronic music. Initially, Brian began his journey as and amateur composer, DX7/Juno programmer an MIDI connoisseur. His diverse musical influences include the likes of Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode, New Order, Paul Van Dyk, Rank 1, Cosmic Gate, Markus Schulz, and John O'Callahan.
In addition to his career as an electronic music artist, Brian McCalla is also a professional engineer and renewable technology consultant who teaches engineering. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, energy management, and STEM education.

His latest single release, ‘Tensor’, has already amassed over two and a half thousand streams on Spotify after its release a mere few days ago.

Our featured single, ‘Tensor’ by Brian McCalla, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The single lasts just over five minutes and sits at a steady 126bpm. The track commences with a percussive beat that carries the rhythmic flow of the single throughout. Momentary instrumental stabs create a foundation for a higher pitched melodic line to sit prominently in the mix. As the melody progresses, a subtle crescendo of intensity builds to the 0:53 mark when a powerful beat takes the prominent position; substantially adding to the build.
The crescendo alleviates around the 1:10 mark which allows for additional layers of synth to progress the melodic flow. Around two minutes in, an ambient keys section is perfectly panned, gradually taking the dominant position before being met by a delayed synth and an intense percussive build.
The combination of a powerful beat, the plethora of well balanced synth layers, and various stylistic elements that express creative flare whilst also providing diversity, make this new single one that fans of Brian McCalla, as well as those who appreciate new and creative Trance, will definitely want to hear.
