FEATURED RELEASE

Our featured album, ‘Close to Me: A Tribute to The Cure’, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The album lasts around twenty-six minutes and consists of seven tracks: ‘Just Like Heaven’, ‘In Between Days’, ‘Why Can’t I Be You?’, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘M’, ‘Fire in Cairo’, and ‘Lost’.

Just Like Heaven’ by Nitronica lasts three minutes and four seconds and sits at a steady 156bpm. The powerful and prominent electric guitar is a stand out feature throughout the track. The vocal color is clean and relaxed, creating a stylistic flow when coupled with the upbeat instrumentation. ‘In Between Days’ by Guilherme Wolf lasts two minutes and fifty-five seconds and sits at 141bpm. The vocal color is emotive and matches the intensity of the rhythmic instrumentation. Panned effects create a depth to the mix that reflects Guilherme Wolf’s unique and authentic style.

Why Can’t I Be You?’ by Caio Barbosa lasts four minutes and twenty-four seconds and commences with a twenty-seven second introduction that is comprised of a plethora of acoustic guitar driven smooth instrumental elements; amalgamating to form an emotive melodic flow that sets the tone for the proceeding verse. The vocal color is clean and effortless, seamlessly tying in with the instrumental style. ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ by The Peace Accord lasts two minutes and forty-four seconds and sits at an upbeat tempo of 165bpm. The vocal line utilises an atmospheric reverb that adds a depth to the sound that makes the listener feel like they are listening to a live performance rather than a studio record. A point of creative flare can be found from 0:35 to 0:47 when the implementation of a synth riff adds an unexpected, yet perfectly appropriate layer to the mix that increases its dynamic diversity.

M’ by Aletrix lasts three minutes and seventeen seconds and sits at 128bpm. The combination of distorted guitar, foundational bass and steady percussion, creates a sound that is unique to Aletrix whilst also providing the perfect platform for the rock-styled vocal color that sits prominently in the mix. ‘Fire in Cairo’ by mo.rila lasts five minutes and twenty seconds and utilises a foundational breakbeat/syncopated percussive layer that carries the melodic flow of the instrumentation. A variety of eclectic elements systematically permeate throughout the track; creating an auditory experience that is engaging and unpredictable.

Lost’ by Godless Sailors lasts three minutes and forty-nine seconds and sits at a steady 85bpm. The vocal color is free flowing and gives the impression of a live and authentic performance. The contrasting use of delay and reverb shift the vocal tone, resultantly adding a dynamic diversification that allows the instrumentation to become more prominent. A cymbal-heavy percussive section drives the single in a continual crescendo until the 3:23 mark when it drops out, allowing the vocal to lead the melody into the outro.
