ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dgammafiv was originally founded by Kevin James (First Icon Music) and is currently based in New York City. The multi-genre music collaborative covers a plethora of music styles that include: Afrobeat, EDM, Latin, Pop, Rap and RnB. The group’s creative influences range from Michael Jackson and The Police to Nile Rodgers and Timbaland.
Kevin was initially inspired by his mother’s “eclectic music collection”, later finding his way to become a college station host, before being appointed as Production Director. This invaluable experience provided Kevin with a professional view of the music industry.

Dgammafiv has developed an impressive discography in 2020 alone with four Single/EP releases: ‘Velocity’, ‘Unforgetable (Inolvitable)’, ‘Luminosity’ and ‘Dopamine’. Although Dgammafiv has only begun to established a foothold in the electronic scene, they have amassed almost thirty two thousand streams for their track ‘Velocity’ and over twenty six thousand streams for their single ‘Unforgetable (Inolvitable)’. With statistics like that, it’s fair to say the Dgammafiv’s momentum and fan base has seen a significant growth with every release.

Our featured EP, ‘Dopamine’ by Dgammafiv, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP lasts around ten minutes and consists of three tracks: ‘Dopamine’, ‘Dopamine II’ and ‘DopamineRush’.
The title track, ‘Dopamine’, sits at a steady 122bpm and lasts two minutes and twenty six seconds. The single commences with a panned/ambient siren, amalgamating with a prominent beat and a subtle layer of foundational/monotone instrumental. A gradual crescendo incrementally increases the intensity of the tone, right up until the first main hook instigates at 0:31. A partial percussive drop allows the melody to establish itself as the most prominent instrumental feature. After which, the beat creates a strong build in preparation for the main drop that kicks in at the 1:03 mark, after the vocal line, “Are you ready?”. The combination of various stylistic shifts, dominant percussion/bass, and a memorable melody, make this track live up to Dgammafiv’s growing reputation.
In addition to ‘Dopamine’, this EP release contains remixed versions of the title track: ‘Dopamine II’ and ‘DopamineRush’. Both tracks express creative independence by altering the production whilst keeping in-line with Dgammafiv’s signature style, as well as increasing the track length to almost five minutes in ‘DopamineRush’. With a combination of both subtle and significant alterations, it’s hard to imagine that there isn’t a track on this EP that won’t resonate with fans of electronic music.
