Elysian Jane - ‘N.F.’
Our featured SINGLE/EP, ‘N.F.’ by Elysian Jane, is OUT NOW and available to stream on all major streaming platforms!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Elysian Jane is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2020. Although Elysian has already begun to establish her fan base, she only started performing in 2019 with a local progressive funk band; releasing covers such as ‘The Weeknd’ by SZA which gathered more than thirty-five thousand streams.
Recognising that the band had lost the element of fun that inspired Elysian’s musical creativity, she made the bold decision to leave the band and pursue writing her own original music, “…going solo was the best decision I have ever made”.
Although Elysian Jane receives creative inspiration from a number of styles, she combines a variety of compositional elements to form her unique sound. With an album set to drop in 2021, with featured artists such as Koshadillz, Elysian is beginning to build some serious momentum going into this new year.
“I am most excited for bringing artists together...I cannot wait to see what 2021 has in store for all of us!”
To date, Elysian Jane has two singles and one EP in her online discography. Some of her most popular tracks include the likes of ‘N.F.’, amassing ten thousand two hundred streams, ‘New Sparks’, gathering over four thousand seven hundred streams, and ‘Right Ways’, with almost two thousand six hundred streams. With numbers like that on Spotify alone, there is no denying the fact that Elysian Jane is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans.
FEATURED RELEASE
Our featured single/EP, ‘N.F.’ by Elysian Jane, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms!
The single, ‘N.F.’, lasts one minute and nine seconds, and sits at a steady 72bpm. The track commences with a ten second introduction that features a dial tone and a voicemail machine message, “Yo it’s Nick, can’t come to the phone, leave a message”, setting the tone for the instigation of the vocal line by adding context to the lyricism. Elysian Jane’s vocal color is clean and effortless; seamlessly synchronising with the solo instrumental accompaniment.
The stripped back feel of the composition adds to the emotive tone of the single whilst also allowing for Elysian’s vocal to sit prominently in the mix. The implementation of a subtle phonebox-styled vocal effect provides a creative flare to the overall production. A final spoken phrase, “Are you still there?”, brings the single to a close and adds a sense of finality to the piece; leaving the listener with a feeling of anticipation for the story of the song to be continued.
The EP, ‘N.F.’, consists of three songs and lasts around nine minutes. Although the EP is technically grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers a variety of compositional elements that showcase Elysian Jane’s creative talent; from the atmospheric reverb that combines with a foundational bass line and steady beat to form a catchy yet ominous melody in ‘New Sparks’, the eclectic percussive elements, stylistic piano progression and powerful lyricism delivered in a spoken word form in ‘(Sr)y’, to the rhythmic beat, ethereal synth layering, soulful vocal and impressive guitar solo of ‘Nightmare’.
From the well balanced production and creative compositional arrangements, to the impressive vocal performance and authentic lyricism, fans of Elysian Jane, as well as those who appreciate new and creative music, will definitely want to hear this single/EP.
