ABOUT THE ARTIST

Flow is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene roughly six years ago. Having always had a passion for songwriting, Flow wrote his first original song back in 1995. With a natural affinity for both rap and singing, Flow embraces his full spectrum of creativity as he doesn’t want to limit his music. Although he is inspired by a number of genres, including the likes of R&B, Afrobeat, Blues, Pop, and Funk, Flow combines a number of stylistic elements to form his unique sound.

After stepping back from music in around 2015 due to his travel commitments, Flow began writing and recording his original music once again at the end of 2019. Since then he has went on to produce a plethora of original music which includes his new album: ‘Lost In Paradise: A Story Of Love Through Afrobeat Rhythm’.

To date, Flow has one album and three singles in his SoundCloud discography. Some of his most popular tracks prior to his album release include the likes of ‘WhatUGot Featuring El Monarka’, ‘My Bed Featuring Eli Floyd’, and ‘All I Need’. With hundreds of followers on Instagram and SoundCloud alone, there is no denying the fact that Flow is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans.

Our featured album, ‘Lost In Paradise: A Story Of Love Through Afrobeat Rhythm’ by Flow, is out now! The album consists of seven tracks:

‘Lost’, ‘Love Me’, ‘My Own Drum’, ‘Let Loose’, ‘Too Much’, ‘Where You Been’, and ‘Slow Down’.

The opening track, ‘Lost’, lasts three minutes and five seconds and sits at a steady 100bpm. The track commences with an eight second introduction that combines rhythmic instrumentation with subtle vocalisations that set the tone for the first verse. Flow’s vocal color is stylistic and partially effected; seamlessly synchronising with the smooth instrumental accompaniment. The amalgamation of the foundational bass line, steady beat, catchy guitar riff and smooth lyricism form a memorable melodic hook that will have you hitting that repeat button the moment the track draws to a close for another listen.

Although the album is technically grouped under the genre classification of Afrobeat, each track delivers a diverse range of compositional elements that showcase Flow’s talent; from the eclectic percussion and stylistic implementation of brass in ‘Love Me’, the creatively panned beat, melodic progression of the keys, powerful sub-bass and systematic inclusion of backing vocals that add a depth to the overall sound of ‘Too Much’, to the seamlessly harmonised vocal layering, atmospheric synth swells and dynamic diversity provided by the impressive rap in ‘Still Going’.
