ABOUT THE ARTIST
ibeshocker, also known as Nevin Shoker, is a twenty-four year old artist/audio engineer who currently resides in West Hollywood, California. ibeshocker initially grew up in Modesto and acquired a degree in Mass Media Communication from California State University Stanislaus. He went on to work in College radio as both a Broadcasting Personality and as a Music Director.
ibeshocker’s stage name was inspired by a substitute teacher who pronounced his name as “Shocker” rather than “Shoker”; eventually becoming his nick name which he later combined with “ibe” because “that’s who I be”. The purpose behind ibeshocker’s music is to “shock the world and inspire people that their dreams are so obtainable, as long as [they] want success more than [their] next breath and work everyday towards [their] goals”.
To date, ibeshocker has one Album, ‘Crossroads’ (2020), and four Single/EP releases in his online discography: ‘10 A.M. in Amsterdam’ (2019), ‘Take a Trip’ (2019), ‘Im in Love’ (2020), and ‘Actin’ Up’(2020). With two singles and an album dropping in 2020, it’s fair to say that ibeshocker is thoroughly establishing himself as an up and coming artist to keep an eye on over the course of this year.

Our featured single, ‘Fall 4u’ by ibeshocker, is to be released on the sixth of November and will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The track lasts three minutes and three seconds and sits at a steady 85bpm.
“‘Fall 4u’ is a brutally honest song were I am coming to a realisation in my relationship. The main point of the song was to showcase the constant loop/limbo I was in during that time period in my life.”
The single commences with a twenty-two second instrumental introduction that is comprised of two sections; an initial ten seconds of subtle vocalisations combined with an ambient solo instrumental progression, followed by the seemingly improvised vocal that amalgamates with the prominent sub-bass/percussive beat which kicks in at the eleven second mark. ibeshocker’s vocal color is clean and emotive whilst maintaining a dynamic diversity that flows with the instrumental accompaniment.
The utilisation of subtle vocalisations, sitting beneath the main vocal line, creates a depth to the sound that is a unique reflection of ibeshocker’s creative talent. Multiple vocal layers during the chorus add to the memorable melody. The main hook line: “how many more times do I gotta fall for you”, refers to the “constant loop” ibeshocker was in during the time when he wrote the track. Feeling like things in life were “going great then downhill, then back to great, then back to downhill” inspired his creative energy to pen a single that addressed his struggle with falling for the same “person over and over again”.
