ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kiss the Tiger is a five-piece rock ’n’ roll band coming out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band’s influences include the likes of Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith, and Iggy Pop.

In February of 2017, Kiss the Tiger entered the Star Tribune’s ‘Are You Local?’ Best New Band competition and impressively managed to achieve the prize for runner-up. It wasn’t long after this success that the band recorded their EP ‘Elliot Park’ that dropped in November of 2017.

Their music video for the featured track ‘Starting to See You’ was named as one of Minnesota’s Best Music Videos of 2018 by The Current. They went on to achieve the same recognition award with their video for ‘Bad Boy’ continuing to increase their successful momentum. In 2019, City Page named front-person Meghan Kreidler for Best Stage Style in their 2019 ‘Best Of’ issue.

The band already have an impressive discography including 2016’s self-titled album ‘Kiss the Tiger’, 2017’s EP ‘Elliot Park’, 2018’s ‘Loosen the Chains’ and ‘Sisterly Love’, 2019’s ‘Let me Bleed’, and most recently, their 2020 single ‘Motel Room’.

NEW RELEASE

Their latest single ‘Motel Room’ begins with a crescendo of percussion followed by powerful stabs that incorporate various instrumentation including electric-guitar, piano and bass. The lead vocal-line incorporates an enthusiastic yet perfectly controlled vocal color that when coupled with a harmony line at various stages throughout the track, creates an epic and unique sound.

A partial breakdown at around the 1:34 mark breaks up the track at just the right moment whilst also building tension for the final chorus. The final repeat results in the melody thoroughly embedding itself deep within your subconscious, forcing you to play the track again and again until you’ve satiated the need to sing along.

The stylistic approach of this track is reminiscent of rock ’n’ roll of old, yet it has an undeniably unique and modern feel that will assuredly appease fans of this genre. ‘Motel Room’ is OUT NOW and available to stream on all major platforms.
