ABOUT THE ARTIST
Madeline Rosene is an LA based Indie singer/songwriter. She has performed at venues that include Arlene's Grocery and Rockwood Stage in New York City and Los Globos, Molly Malone's, The Viper Room, and The Other Door in Los Angeles.
Madeline’s discography includes five single/ep releases and one album release: 2018’s ‘Short and Sweet’ and ‘Drunk Text’; 2019’s ‘Just My Type’, ‘Just My Type (Full Version) and ‘Hit Song-live’; 2020’s album ‘Raised on Porn’.

The latest single, ‘Numb’ by Madeline Rosene, is out now and available to stream on all major platforms! When asked about the meaning behind the title of her new album, Madeline had this to say:
“Millennials are the first generation to grow up exposed to internet pornography, highly photoshopped digital advertisements, skyrocketing rates of cosmetic surgery, webcam models, online sugar dating, and so much more. We live in a sex sells culture that favors Instagram butt models over intelligence, follower count over human connection, and luxury branding over compelling narratives. My realization of this was amplified by living in Los Angeles where I found favors, networking, and model looks go a lot farther than original thought and talent. At times, I felt lost in a sea of fake, disassociated. Porn isn’t just sex on the internet or on your TV. Porn is in our advertisements, on social media, and in our minds, emotions, and relationships. What does this mean for how we connect and relate to others? Who is really listening and not just looking at analytics and body shapes? As someone who considers themselves openminded and sex positive, I wrote the songs on this album while navigating relationships, fighting through inauthenticity and phoniness, dating, and going through a time of self-discovery, trying to be deeply honest with myself. ”
Sitting at a steady 116bpm, the single commences with an acoustic chord progression coupled with some clean electric. Madeline’s vocal color is effortless and sits prominently in the mix. Various vocalised harmony layers are subtly added in the chorus to add depth to the transition. A stylistic guitar solo breaks up the track at just the right moment before the memorable melody of the chorus repeats leading to the outro. The effects utilised in the outro create an ominous ending that definitely adds a creative flare to the production.
