Our featured album, ‘Blackout’ by mentalEscape, is OUT NOW and available to stream on all major streaming platforms!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
mentalEscape is an up and coming music project that was founded by M.Causevic back in 2002. Although mentalEscape take creative inspiration from the likes of The Prodigy, NiN and Aphex Twin, their unique sound combines multiple elements from a variety of genres to form their unique sound; including the likes of industrial-ebm, drum n' bass, dark techno, big beat and aggrotech.
Before mentalEscape materialised, M.Causevic released the single ‘Industrial Whore’ under the name Detrude eighteen years prior to mentalEscape’s debut single release. The track reached number one on MP3.com, was remixed by Ghost In The Machine, and featured on the Raw42 Records definitive album ‘Twisted’. In addition to its own creative original music, mentalEscape was also chosen to write and produce the main music score for the feature film Duality (directed by Dominic Portalla, and the score for The Darkness Within (a psych-thriller film).
To date, mentalEscape’s Spotify discography consists of one single and one album. Some of its most popular tracks include the likes of ‘Black Snow’, ‘Hypomanic’, and ‘Crush Them’. To check out mentalEscape’s exclusive DJ mixes, visit the official mentalEscape SoundCloud by clicking here.
FEATURED RELEASE
Our featured album, ‘Blackout’ by mentalEscape, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The album consists of ten unique tracks.
Although ‘Blackout’ is technically categorised under one genre classification, each track delivers a variety of creative elements that showcase mentalEscape’s compositional diversity; from the intense breakbeat-styled percussive flow, creative panned synth layers and foundational bass of ‘Nightmares’, the ominous melodic tone and hypnotic vibe of ‘Crush Them’, the eclectic transitions and solo percussive instrumental breaks of ‘Less Human’, the smooth tempo and dark tone provided by the atmospheric piano/guitar contrasting with the synth swells of ‘Ghost Story’, to the catchy hook riff and stylistic vocalisations that are systematically filtered throughout ‘Dissociation’.
