Padre Tóxico - ‘Synesthesia’

The newest electronic album, ‘Synesthesia’ from Padre Tóxico will be available to stream on the 3rd of May on all major streaming platforms!

ABOUT THE ARTIST

A fan of Hip-hop since the eighties, Padre Tóxico grew up during the golden era of the genre with artists such as Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre and 2Pac leaving a lasting impression on him. A similar surge of synergistic inspiration came when Padre discovered electronic music for the first time. Artists such as Kiasmos, Jon Hopkins, Stimming, Four Tet, Lapalux, Flying Lotus, Christian Loffler, Moderat and Apparat, to name a few, had a huge impact on the intrigued artist who had no prior experience producing music within this genre.

It was a mere six months ago that Padre Tóxico had the realisation that he would attempt to acquire the necessary skills needed to produce electronic music of his own. He purchased the equipment and began to put in the work. Combining his love for both Hip-hop and now electronic music, Padre Tóxico has produced records with implemented elements from both genres with eight tracks currently available on Soundcloud that have gained over thirteen-thousand collective plays.

His most successful song to date on Spotify was the 2020 release ‘Summer In L.A’ that has already achieved almost seven and a half thousand streams, with an impressive six and a half thousand monthly listeners.

UPCOMING RELEASE

We had an exclusive listen to ten new tracks from the album ‘Synesthesia’ prior to its release. Although all of the tracks stand alone in their own right as unique compositions, a few singles of note include ‘Headphones On’ which sits in at around 120bpm and is driven by its eclectic beat, incorporating various panned sounds to allow the sub-bass to punch through while also giving room for the main melodic riff to be layered on top as the key ambient component.

‘Mindblower’ has a completely different feel, utilising hard-panned noises, a sense of systematic suspense is built throughout the opening minute and a half of the track before a strong break-beat percussive section instigates and dominates as the main feature for the remainder.

‘Synesthesia’, defined as “the production of a sense impression relating to one sense or part of the body by stimulation of another sense or part of the body”, is an appropriate title for this track. Clearly utilising cleverly panned instrumentation and dramatic builds, check out 2:08-2:24, this track sends the listener into a world of Padre Tóxico’s creation when you wear the right pair of headphones. Although their is clearly a theme throughout this album, each track could easily stand on its own as a single release.

In addition to the 3rd of May release for his electronic album ‘Synesthesia’, Padre Tóxico is also releasing a second album on the same date titled ‘Life Supplement’ which leans more in the direction of his Hip/hop routes.
