ABOUT THE ARTIST
Required For Entry is an up and coming band who burst onto the streaming scene this year with their debut release ‘Just the Tip’. The band members initially met back in 2009 while attending high school in Bakersfield, California. After honing their skills since their formation, Required For Entry began recording their original music in 2019.
Although they take creative inspiration from the likes of The Misfits, The Ramones, Angels and Airwaves and Blink 182, Required For Entry’s compositional style amalgamates a variety of melodic elements to form their unique sound. Prioritising their passion for producing authentic music over “accolades or year-end lists”, Required For Entry channel their “youthful energy” that has been cultivated over the years as they practiced in garages.
With tracks like of ‘About You’, amassing almost one thousand three hundred streams since the recent release of the EP, it’s fair to say that Required For Entry are already beginning to build a dedicated following.

Although the EP is grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers diverse melodic elements that showcase Required For Entry’s compositional creativity; from the stylistic vocal color, driven electric progression and intense percussion of ‘About You’, the catchy main hook and seamlessly synchronised lyricism of ‘City Lights and Summer Nights’, the ominously effected instrumental introduction and dynamic melodic shift at 0:38 in ‘Smile’, to the authentic electric guitar riff, rhythmic percussion and emotive vocal performance in ‘Farewell’. With a retro sound that reminds you of an early Blink 182, Required For Entry deliver an impressive debut EP that captures a modern take on the Punk genre.
