Our featured ep, ‘4EVRSTR8’ by Styyle, is OUT NOW and available to stream on all major streaming platforms!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Styyle is a Hip-Hop/Rap artist who is originally from Columbus Ohio. Inspired by his mother, who happened to be a rapper, Styyle was involved in the formation of the local rap group: YungStreetRunnaz, and went on to amass over twenty thousand views on their debut single in 2017. After teaming up with Cornaztone, Styyle produced his ‘Rags to Riches’ single in 2019. Taking creative inspiration from the likes of Lil Durk , Lil Uzi, and Gucci Mane, Styyle has created his own unique style that authentically represents his creative compositional talents.
“…I can feel the lyrics come to me by just listening to the beat. That’s one reason why I freestyle most of my songs. I’m trying to make it out because no one here has done it and I want to be the first. I have a daughter to feed and I’m chasing my dream to provide for my family.”
Styyle went on to sign with the Birmingham Indy Powerseat Music Group and resultantly released his debut album, ‘Rags to Riches’, in 2019. One of his most successful tracks, ‘Easy Flow’, gathered more than sixty thousand streams. With numbers like that, it’s fair to say that Styyle has cultivated a dedicated following of loyal fans.
To date, Styyle has four releases available on his online discography: ‘Rags to Riches’ (2019), ‘Easy Flow’ (2019), ‘Rags to Riches’ (2019 - Album), and our featured EP, ‘4EVRSTR8’.
FEATURED RELEASE
Our featured single, ‘4EVRSTR8’ by Styyle, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP lasts around seventeen minutes and consists of eight tracks: ‘Hit Stick’, ‘Ain’t Easy’, ‘Another Day’, ‘Yeah’, ‘Ya Dig’, ‘Sex in the City’, ‘Heart Froze’, and ‘4u’.
The opening track, ‘Hit Stick’, lasts one minute and forty-five seconds and sits at a steady 150bpm. The track commences with a twelve second introduction that consists of a stylistic synth line that is combined with a variety of creative vocalisations; setting the melodic tone for the proceeding verse. Styyle’s vocal kicks in at the 0:13 mark and features an effected vocal color that maintains its dynamic diversity as the single progresses. The melodic hook is memorable and utilises the foundational beat/bass to drive the intensity of the instrumental accompaniment.
From the panned instrumental layers and eclectic production of ‘Ain’t Easy’, the creative utilisation of an ominous piano line coupled with the powerful and prominent rap of ‘Yeah’, to the smooth electric guitar riff that sits subtly underneath a dominant sub-bass/percussive beat and emotive vocal line in ‘4u’, fans of Styyle, as well as those who appreciate new and creative music, will definitely want to hear this EP.
