ABOUT THE ARTIST
Witt’s journey into music began in his twenties when he first picked up the guitar and discovered a passion for songwriting. Inspired by icons like Jeff Tweedy, Elliott Smith, and R.E.M., he honed his craft quietly, writing songs and teaching himself to sing. For years, Witt embraced the role of a "closet songwriter," channeling his creativity privately while pursuing other facets of life.
His musical pursuits gained momentum when his advertising career took him to Chicago, where he joined a band and self-released two EPs. These recordings brought his imagined full-band sound to life, and though he performed a handful of live shows, Witt chose to focus on the satisfaction of creating rather than chasing commercial success. Yet, life’s demands and new opportunities led him to step away from music for over a decade, as he explored professional ventures and traveled the world.
In 2024, a return to his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, reignited Witt’s creative spark. Equipped with a home recording setup and a renewed sense of purpose, he crafted Infinity Smile, his first EP in fourteen years. Collaborating with producer Dan-O Deckleman, Witt expanded his sound, blending punchy guitar melodies, electronic textures, and Americana influences into a vibrant collection of five indie rock tracks. Infinity Smile reflects the joy and freedom of an artist rediscovering his voice, offering introspective lyrics and dynamic grooves that capture both personal growth and universal resonance.
