ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hailing from Oregon, Wisconsin, Becky Wiles is a country/folk singer-songwriter who has captivated audiences with her soul-stirring melodies and authentic lyricism. Recently, she received the SongwriterUniverse Best Song of the Month Award for her track, Free Kind of Me, a standout composition on her debut album of the same name.
Becky’s musical journey began in Edgerton, Wisconsin, where, at just six years old, she discovered her love for the piano. She honed her skills and became a classically trained pianist, eventually transitioning into songwriting at the age of ten. Influenced by the intricate harmonies and storytelling of artists like Natalie Merchant, Indigo Girls, the Chicks, and Crosby, Stills & Nash, Becky found her calling in the realms of folk and country music.
Though she initially enrolled at the University of Madison-Wisconsin as a piano performance major, life took her on a different educational path. Becky earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and later served two transformative years in the Peace Corps in Poland. Upon returning stateside, she pursued an MBA from the UW Madison School of Business, leading her to a fulfilling career in the non-profit sector. She now serves as the President of the UPH-Meriter Health Foundation.
Despite her professional achievements, Becky felt a deep-rooted urge to return to her musical roots. Encouraged by Roy Elkins, the founder and CEO of the popular music site Broadjam, she decided to refocus on her music career, resulting in her debut album.
