ABOUT THE ARTIST
LUI is a rising artist whose latest single, ‘SAGIN’, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! LUI’s parents escaped poverty in the slums of Peru by moving to America while he was still a child. Sadly LUI’s parents got divorced resulting in LUI spending some time in Virginia with his mother before moving to New Jersey with his father.
Before he left, LUI’s mother gave him a guitar which he used to write his first song. Unfortunately, LUI’s mother succumbed to cancer soon after LUI graduated high school. Determined to keep his mother’s dream alive to have a better life, LUI honed his craft as a musician and songwriter to become the artist that he is today. Although he receives inspiration from a number of styles, LUI combines a variety of compositional elements to form his unique and authentic sound.
“My mom’s number one goal was for me to come to the U.S. and have a better life. One day in 2018 it clicked for me, her dreams and my passions could co-exist. I realized that music could provide the life my mother dreamed of for me, and I hit the ground running.”
