ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mikael Bildt’s latest single, ‘Minotaur’, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! Mikael’s career began back when he was just fifteen years old when he formed his first metal band. Although he wrote only four tracks during this time, he gained experience performing at multiple live gigs. Mikael went on to study audio engineering at the School of Audio Engineering in Stockholm, Sweden until 2007. After his time in education, honing his skill as a musician and producer, Mikael Bildt returned to La Paz and formed the band El Viaje de Nina; co-writing several tracks and performing live shows.
In 2015, Mikael made the sound installation In Audita at the Centro Cultural de España in La Paz. His concept for this installation was the, “exploration of the beats of nature, which is to say, any rhythm without a musical intention; like a person working with a machete, the rhythm of crickets in the jungle or rain drops falling on leaves”. This installation, combined with his exploration of “nature sounds and the fusion of field recordings with musical rhythmic elements”, resulted in the idea for his upcoming EP, ‘Minotaur’. In 2017, Mikael Bildt became a part of the live electronic music act known as La Perseguidora; providing acoustic and electronic drumming, assorted percussion and synth.
To date, Mikael Bildt has two singles and one EP in his Spotify discography. Some of his most popular tracks include the likes of ‘Tiago Garcia’, ‘Minotaur’, and ‘Malaka - Remastered 2021’. With a growing number of followers and listeners, there is no denying the fact that Mikael Bildt is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans who will be eager to hear his latest release.

The single lasts around eight minutes and commences with a one minute and thirty-two second section that incorporates dynamically panned instrumental sounds with very subtle instrumentation, and a spacious percussive beat that sets the overall tone. The distant instrumental layer drops out of the mix from around 1:17 to 1:31, leaving the beat and nature sounds. This short gap builds a sense of anticipation for the track to progress.
At the 1:32 mark a powerful synth layer is added to the mix that adds an ominous quality to the single. The rhythmic intensity of the beat increases and supports the dark vibe of the sound. The creatively panned electronic layers amalgamate with the nature sounds to create the captivating sound experience. By the time ‘Minotaur’ comes to a close, you’ll find yourself drawn into the soundscape and completely immersed in a world created by Mikael Bildt’s creative compositional talent.
