ABOUT THE ARTIST
Aaron Wyanski, a multifaceted composer and pianist, brings an eclectic mix of jazz, classical, lounge, and improvisational styles to the musical table. With a career that’s as diverse as his musical repertoire, Aaron boasts unique experiences ranging from premiering compositions at the prestigious Carnegie Hall to destroying an instrument onstage at the iconic CBGBs, and even performing alongside a Sinatra impersonator at a Florida aquarium.
This array of experiences shapes his deeply personal artistic voice, delving into themes of memory, perspective, and vulnerability. Wyanski’s compositions have been showcased at renowned venues like New Music Miami and the Hartford New Music Festival, as well as at the Five Points Center for the Visual Arts.
His contributions to the field have earned him residencies at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Vermont College of Fine Arts. His notable works have been commissioned and premiered by acclaimed artists such as Duo Refracta, the Amaranth Quartet, and Juventas New Music Ensemble, enriching the contemporary music scene with his innovative approach.
In addition to his creative pursuits, Wyanski is dedicated to music education. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Music Composition at the University of Maine at Farmington and runs a private music studio. His passion for education extends to co-founding the Monson Seminar, a unique residential course for Pell-eligible and first-generation college students.
With a robust educational background, including a DMA from the Hartt School and an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, Aaron Wyanski continues to influence and inspire the next generation of musicians and composers.
