Estate of Sylvia Moy Foundation and Motown Alumni Association Collaborate to Ignite Musical Passions in Detroit

The Estate of Sylvia Moy Foundation (EoSMF), in collaboration with the Motown Alumni Association (MAA), is thrilled to unveil a NEW lineup of music courses through their joint initiative, "Motown In The Schools" (MITS)

This venture aims to ignite the creative sparks of Detroit's young music aficionados and aspiring professionals at Masterpiece Sound Studios, located in the heart of Detroit at 1611 Webb. The program is a beacon of opportunity for Detroit's high school and college students who are passionate about music creation. Offering a blend of both in-person and online formats, the courses encompass a diverse range of subjects tailored to the modern music industry.

Participants can delve into Audio Arts, Music Production, Recording Arts, Show Production, Creative Writing, Music Business, and Songwriting. A unique feature of the MITS program is the hands-on studio lab sessions, guided by seasoned professionals at Masterpiece Sound Studios. Graduates of the MITS program will be awarded Masterpiece Sound Studios-MITS Certificates of Completion, symbolizing their mastery and readiness to enter the dynamic world of music.

Christopher Moy, Co-Manager of the Estate of Sylvia Moy Foundation, expressed pride in this joint endeavor, saying:

We are honored to partner with the Motown Alumni Association to expand the MITS Program course offerings at our facility and our Masterpiece Sound Studios.

Echoing this sentiment, Celeste Moy, another Co-Manager of the EoSMF, emphasized the program's significance in shaping future music industry leaders. She stated, "Our partnership with MAA will be invaluable as we strive to fulfill our mission and help develop 'Tomorrow’s Music Songwriters, Producers, and Musicians Today,' while continuing to introduce iconic American songs and the songwriters who wrote them to new groups of music consumers."

Billy James Wilson, founder and CEO of the MAA, reflected on the program's potential to transform lives, remarking:

As the MITS program continues to evolve and expand its reach, the MAA and its MITS partner, the EoSMF, are committed to nurturing the next generation of music and entertainment leaders. Together, we will shape a future where music knows no bounds and where dreams have the power to transform lives, one inspired individual at a time
