ABOUT THE ARTIST
Drawing inspiration from their recent experiences and musical evolution, The Mascot Theory emerged from the pandemic’s stillness with renewed vigor and an enriched line-up. At the heart of this Wisconsin-based band is the gifted singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist, Erik Kjelland, whose soulful compositions have long defined the group’s sound. Joined by the rhythmic precision of Nick Fry on bass and the solid beats of Paul Metz on drums, The Mascot Theory has always captivated audiences with their compelling blend of melodies and lyrics.
The recent addition of Cory Swadley as the lead guitarist has infused the band with a fresh, rock and roll spirit, honoring the legacy of guitar legends with his own distinctive flair. This new dynamism is palpable in their latest tracks, which delve deeper into rock-inspired rhythms and grooves.
In a pivotal moment for the band, they collaborated with the legendary producer Terry Manning (noted for his work with icons like Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, and Lenny Kravitz) at Sonic Ranch Studios. This April 2022 session near El Paso, TX, was a creatively fertile ground where the band recorded 13 new tracks, alongside revamped versions of their classic hits, for their eagerly anticipated album, Every Sign of Life.
The addition of multi-talented musician Brandon Jensen to the line-up has further elevated their live performances. Jensen’s prowess on keyboards, guitar, and vocals not only complements the band’s existing sound but also effectively captures the essence of Manning’s keys and organ contributions in the new album.
