Searching’ by Working Memory is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms!

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Working Memory is comprised of two brothers; Casey and Ryan Chanatry. Having shared a passion for “musical synchronicity” since the mid-80s, the brothers have honed their craft as musicians over the years, experimenting with the trumpet, recorder, violin, bodhrán, and keys before finding their niche with Casey on guitar and Ryan on drums.

Before the duo formed, Ryan was initially in the successful Phish cover ensemble, Logic, during the late 1990s, in addition to the supergroup Sexual Mullet. During this time, Casey also founded the Ohio and North Carolina-based jam band, Jahman Brahman, touring the US for almost a decade and performing at various major festivals such as Bonnaroo, The Werk Out, Resonance, and Wormtown, in addition to opening for Papadosio, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Twiddle, and Treehouse.

Making the bold decision to combine their musical experience and talent, the brothers came together to form Working Memory to “explore a range of life experiences through an unusual psychedelic inspired indie pop and jam combination”.

Their debut EP, ‘Searching’, “constructs a complex layer of musical emotion centered around Casey’s signature guitar melodies and their eclectic, yet relatable songwriting”. The EP features Emma Jayne on vocals, was produced by Cody Fitzgerald (Stolen Jars, Hi-Lo Jack) and engineered by Anthony Thogmartin (Papadosio).
