ABOUT THE ARTIST
Deckard Croix is a rising artist celebrated for his eclectic fusion of psychedelia, ambience, and musique concrete. His innovative sound often incorporates elements such as “atonality, dissonance, indeterminism, and droning,” giving each project a unique and experimental edge. Croix’s early work, notably from 2001 to 2008, is distinguished by a dedicated use of analog equipment, underscoring his preference for a lo-fi aesthetic.
In 2011, Croix released Bocca di Leone, an ambitious 90-part collaborative project that uses sound montage to celebrate Sardinian culture. This project was reissued in an abridged form in 2019. His 2016 project, Mise en Contexte, utilized indeterministic techniques to create a collection of songs from over three hours of recordings, showcasing his creative approach to composition. In 2020, he introduced a minimalist acoustic album, Splendour + Misery, which blends a singer-songwriter style with light psychedelic elements.
Croix’s discography also features three psychedelic-songwriter albums, Cosmospine, Marquis Verdigris, and Postnatal Noise Cocoon, each album marked by thought-provoking lyrics and intricate guitar work.
